The 1950s were renowned for refurbishments that experimented with concrete and glass. Thankfully the lounge at the Friendship didn't succumb to these trends and the powers that be decreed that oak panelling be used in the rebuilding of the lounge in 1954.

This oak panelling is still very much in evidence today but enhanced by tasteful modern decor and many floral displays.

The lounge is a large, open and airy . There is plenty of room to sit at the bar or on the well upholstered seating. In winter there is always an open fire roaring in the hearth

Throughout the Lounge there are reminders of Mike love of Cricket with Sporting Prints of the game on many of the walls. Recently the lounge has been tastefully augmented by the addition of display cabinets to house the Friendship's collection of cricket memorabilia including signed bats, signed photographs and other cricket related items. So if you fancy a chat about the latest Test Scores then pop into the 'Frenny'

Situated towards the rear of the pub, the Tap Room features a Pool Table for use by pub users

The Friendship has a team entered in the various Glossop Pool Leagues and competitions.

In fact there are a number of teams playing for the Frenny:-

Glossop's Anglers Group also meet at the Friendship, (Last Tuesday of Every Month). In July the pub sponsors their annual Charity Competitions.

If you want to join in with any of the activities mentioned come down to the pub and Mike or one of his team will point you in the direction of the appropriate Team Captain/ Contact.

The Friendship has a new room! Tucked away to the right of the bar a former storeroom has been tastefully converted (continuing the wood panelled theme from the main lounge)to provide a quiet haven for those who prefer to chat and drink without piped music or disruption from the televised events.

The room is also extremely suitable for small commitee/club meetings and there is no hire fee! Simply have a word with the bar staff and you can obtain exclusive use of the room to discuss whatever you require!

More than a couple of chairs slung in a yard! The Friendship's Beer Garden is a proper garden with extensive and decorative plantings! Originally refurbished in 2001 the Friendship Beer Garden has now been fitted out with hardwood decking and rustic lamp standards. It is a great place to while away a balmy Glossop Evening... we do get them (occasionally) you know... ...and if we don't there is a patio heater to remove the nip from the night air!!
